A "question" and a "prompt" are the same thing: the sentence the tool asks the AI engine on your behalf. Where tools sell credits, one credit is usually one answer.
How we put this list together
- We only included tools that measure a brand's visibility in AI answers. SEO tools that write text with AI are not on this list.
- We read price and plan contents on each vendor's own pricing page; no second-hand sources.
- We did not buy and run every tool for months. So we do not rank them by "most accurate"; what we state can be checked on the pricing pages.
- We put our own product first and said so at the top. The rest are in price order.
1. AIShortlist
AIShortlist is our product. Every week it asks your buyers' questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity separately and records whether your brand was named, in which position, who was named instead and which pages were cited.
The difference starts after the measurement: it finds the "best X" list pages the answers cite and gives you an action plan for each, with who to write to and a draft email. It crawls your site and writes the paragraph to change, using only facts already on your site.

Rankscale has the lowest entry price on this list: the Essentials plan is $17 a month, but only with annual billing. Month to month, the first plan is Pro at $99.
It runs on credits: Pro includes 1,200 credits, 10 brand dashboards and 50 page audits. Engine coverage is broad.
- Best for: tracking many brands or engines on a small budget.
- Watch for: do the credit maths first; prompts, engines and frequency all draw from the same credits.
3. Otterly.AI
Otterly.AI tracks 15 prompts daily on the $29 Lite plan. Standard is $189 (100 prompts), Premium $489 (400 prompts).
ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot are included. Gemini, Google AI Mode and Claude are paid add-ons on every plan (on Lite: Gemini $9, AI Mode $9, Claude $29).
- Best for: solo marketers who want a few prompts tracked daily.
- Watch for: if you need Gemini, add the add-on to the price.
4. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Brand Radar is the AI visibility product from Ahrefs. Tracking your own prompts starts at $50 a month. Searching for your brand in Ahrefs' ready-made prompt index (the AI visibility index) is separate and starts at $199 a month.
It covers AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot.
- Best for: SEO teams already on Ahrefs.
- Watch for: there are two separate price lines; decide which one you need.
5. Peec AI
Peec AI has Starter at $95 (50 prompts, 1 project), Pro at $245 (150 prompts, 2 projects) and Advanced at $495 (350 prompts, 5 projects). All track daily with unlimited users.

6. SE Visible (SE Ranking)
SE Visible, a separate product from SE Ranking, gives 200 prompts on the $99 plan. Core is $189 (450 prompts), Plus $355 (1,000 prompts). Five engines are included on every plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
- Best for: a low cost per prompt and Google's AI surfaces in one place.

7. Semrush
Semrush sells AI visibility in one bundle with its SEO tools. The "SEO + AI Search" plans start at $199 a month (50 prompts tracked daily); the $299 plan tracks 100 and the $549 plan 200.
- Best for: teams that want keywords, backlinks and AI visibility in one product.
- Watch for: if you only want AI tracking, you also pay for the SEO side.
8. AthenaHQ
AthenaHQ's paid plan starts at $295 a month: 3,600 credits, where 1 credit is 1 AI response, across 11 models. There is also a free starter tier with 300 credits.
- Best for: marketing teams that track many models together.
- Watch for: credits are spent by prompts multiplied by models.
9. Scrunch
Scrunch Starter is $300 a month ($250 billed annually) with 350 custom prompts. Growth is $500 (700 prompts). It covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Meta.

Profound sells to enterprises: the pricing page shows no monthly figure, you ask for a quote. The 7-day free trial runs 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. The enterprise plan covers nine engines with SSO and SOC 2.

What should you check before choosing?
Look at how the measurement is done before you look at price. In SparkToro's research, two answers to the same question produced the same list of brands less than one time in a hundred. A single answer misleads; what means something is the mention rate across many questions and over time.
